Samsung Electronics Co. (KRX: 005930) has moved one step closer to introducing its new Galaxy Note 4 smartphone. As per previous rumors, a recent leak of a Samsung press schedule indicates that the Korean manufacturer will host an Unpacked event to unveil the device on Sept. 3.

SamMobile originally shared the press document sent out by Samsung Netherlands, which details that the unveiling event will take place as part of the IFA Expo in Berlin; however, the tech website has since deleted its report. This didn’t stop the document from making its rounds among several websites; the schedule indicates that Samsung’s Unpacked event will begin at 2 p.m. CEST.

The Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be announced at this event because Samsung typically calls the unveiling events for its flagship smartphones “Unpacked.” Samsung has not yet officially announced the event, which it usually does on its Samsung Tomorrow blog in addition to sending out official press invites. If the Sept. 3 unveiling date is accurate, Samsung will likely be sending out press invites soon, which is usually done a month prior to the event.

Tech website Android Greeks first projected in May that Samsung would host an Unpacked event for the Galaxy Note 4 on Sept. 3. Later reports suggested that the Galaxy Note 4 might hit markets on Sept. 25. There have also been reports that Samsung might release the Galaxy Note 4 to global markets in early September, which is likely now a defunct rumor after this current leak. The Samsung Galaxy Note devices have traditionally been announced at or around the IFA Expo, which is from Sept. 5 to 10 this year; Sept 3-4 should be IFA’s press-only days this year.

The Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be one of Samsung’s most advanced and highest quality smartphones. The device may include a QHD (1440x2560) resolution display that may be curved or flexible. The Galaxy Note 4 may also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 or Samsung Exynos 5433 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and a 12-megapixel or 16-megapixel main camera. According to rumors, the Galaxy Note 4 may include an iris scanner or a fingerprint scanner, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S5's.

Samsung may also showcase a Gear 3 smartwatch or its rumored Gear VR virtual reality headset at the Unpacked event.
