Samsung Galaxy S2 to Hit US Market: iPhone 5 Prototype Story Can't Snatch Its Glory
Samsung Galaxy S2, one of the most anticipated smartphones of this year and the strongest rival of iPhone 5 is about to hit the U.S. shores at the end of this week.
No! The lost iPhone prototype story could not snatch the attention from the upcoming Samsung monster.
Has the Android based smartphone beaten its competitor just in terms of the release date?
Samsung’s Galaxy SII has released in more than 120 countries and it has seen a huge success in the markets of Asia and Europe .
Demand for the new smartphone is so high that Samsung was unable to meet worldwide shipment demands of both own Exynos chip and Super AMOLED Plus screens. Within 85 days of its release Samsung said over five million units were sold worldwide. In the UK alone, Galaxy S2 hit sales of 3 million within 55 days of its arrival.
With the kind of potential that Samsung galaxy has, it may overpower the upcoming iPhone 5.
The super-thin Galaxy S2 features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED screen with 800x480 screen resolution. The Super AMOLED Plus is the best available technology for mobile displays. It has conventional RGB matrix, which makes the display sharper as well, helping you to read the smallest of text. The Super AMOLED Plus display delivers superior color, enhanced readability, slimmer form and better battery consumption than the previous generation. The Real-Stripe panel technology brings 30 percent more pixels per inch for a brighter, clearer and richer viewing experience compared with the first-generation AMOLED.
The iPhone 5, like iPhone 4 will come with a scratch-resistant oleophobic surface, multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, three-axis gyro sensor and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
The Super AMOLED Plus display has incredibly high resolution, natural looking colors and its outdoor visibility and wide-angle is better than iPhone’s retina display.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 will offer more speed in the micro-chip department with its dual-core 1.2GHz chipset, as Apple will be powered by a dual-core A5 processor which powers the iPad. Galaxy S II is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A9Mali-400MP GPU Orion chipset.
Apple’s iPhone 5 is expected to come the operating system, iOS 5, which will bring new features like notification bar, cloud synchronization, wireless syncing,Twitter integration and widgets which are already available in Android. Android’s new Operating System “Ice Cream Sandwich” which will run in Galaxy S2 is expected to reduce the fragmentation issues with Android devices. Android is more customizable, has more widgets, and has less restrictions. Also, the OS will be more functional and will feature a more fluid interface.
Though Apple has a large number of apps in its App Store, Android has more number of free apps in its app gamut. The Android market is improving in quantity and quality very fast over the past few years.
Flash is a major drawback in the iPhone. The Samsung Galaxy S2 supports Flash, unlike the iPhone 5. The Galaxy S2 supports full HD video playback inside Adobe Flash player. There is no other device at present which allows full HD video playback even inside Adobe Flash player.
With the NFC (Near Field Communication)-enabled in the Samsung Galaxy S2, it can be used for contact-less mobile payments. However, Apple is expected to forgo NFC-capability in the upcoming iPhone 5; UK carriers revealed that Apple will abstain from since Near Field Communication has no industry standards.
The latest rumor about the iPhone 5 release comes from the retailer, Best Buy, which is set for an October launch of the next generation iPhone.
