Galaxy S3 rumors are high at the moment after a new Galaxy S3 photo surfaced online, which indicates March 22 release date. The South Korean firm is expected to release its new flagship device at a media event in London.
The official looking leaked photo has skyrocketed Galaxy S3-related web searches. Another photo of Galaxy S3 leaked on Picasa suggests the same-old 8 megapixel camera module and GT-I9300 model number.
Here is a quick rundown of expected specs of Samsung Galaxy S3.
New Design
Internet searches related to Galaxy S3 design are high. The new device could have rado-style design. The cheap rear plastic cover of Galaxy S3 is getting upgraded in Galaxy S3 to a stylish ceramic one. Galaxy S3 is even expected to be thinner than Galaxy S3. Rumored thickness is 8mm.
Quad-core Exynos processor
Galaxy S2 is twice faster than iPhone 4S. Now iPhone 5 with quad-core A6 processor is coming. Against Apple, Samsung is using its home-baked quad-core 1.8 GHz Exynos processor in Galaxy S3 to outgun the new iPhone again when it comes to performance. There will be 2 GB of RAM in the device to muscle up overall performance.
Upgraded Screen
Galaxy S3 will sport 4.8-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. Making Galaxy S3 screen more rigid, Samsung will use second generation Corning Gorilla Glass in it.
4G and NFC Connectivity
The new flagship device will be LTE enabled with optional NFC connectivity. Samsung could fit LTE radio on processor chip for less battery drains and higher talk time.
Wireless Charging
The new Samsung devil may be equipped a secret charging weapon. Galaxy S3 with wireless charging feature could be something revolutionary. Charging the device wirelessly will be possible at a distance of 1-2 meters from the charger. If Galaxy S3 comes packed with wireless charging, it will be the second device to do so after Palm Touchstone.
User Interface
Galaxy S3 will run Android OS 4.0 a.k.a. Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz UI 5.0. Rumors about dual booting option are also high. That could be because the home-made TouchWiz launcher has always been prone to criticism. Samsung could give dual booting option of TouchWiz UI or ICS Vanilla UI.
