Samsung Galaxy S3 Vs LG Optimus LTE 2: Can LG Revamp Its Status And Beat The Biggie With 2GB RAM And 2150mAh Battery?
Putting an end to all the rumors and wild speculations, Samsung unwrapped its Galaxy S3 officially in London May 3.
The successor to Galaxy S2 has come with impressive features. While the tech enthusiasts of the industry are really excited about the new smartphone, there are many others who are somewhat disappointed with the Galaxy S3's features and specs. Many reports claim that the industry expert are not so satisfied with the design and build of the device. They had expected better specifications and features.
Many tech experts believe that at least 2GB RAM should have been there in the quad-core processor to make the functionality of the phone commendable. Galaxy S3 comes with a 1GB RAM to support its quad-core processor, but the phone do come with new innovation S software features which are based on the concept of Human Interaction.
Meanwhile, the media world is doing comparison of Samsung Galaxy S3 with all other smartphones in the market, which include HTC One X and the much-anticipated Apple's sixth generation - iPhone 5. However, the heavyweight has one more competitor - an unexpected one - which also was launched May 3. Yes, the talk is about the freshest smartphone offering from the third major Korean electronics manufacturer -- LG Optimus LTE 2.
LG Optimums LTE 2 is an Android OS-powered handset, which has got all the high-end specifications and an up-to-date hardware under the hood to outmuscle the sales figures of Samsung Galaxy S3. The device comes with an impressive 2 GB of RAM and a gigantic 2,150 mAh battery. According to the company, the new phone will have a 40 percent longer life than any other smartphones available in the market.
But there is one big problem - LG's past records in the phone market. According to Massachusetts-based research company IDC Corp, LG's handset shipments dropped 25 percent to 88.1 million units in 2011, lagging behind Apple by the 93.2 million units.
Meanwhile, Nokia shipped the largest number of phones, followed by Samsung Electronics. On this, expert believe that LG missed its estimates, as the smartphones which got launched by the company in the past have not been able to meet the consumers' need on the basis of performance and availability.
Also, in a market which is dominated by major smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, HTC and Nokia, it may not be the first choice of the buyers to go for an LG smartphone.
However, according to a recent Bloomberg report, which was based on the analysis of renowned stock advisory company Mirae Asset Securities, LG is counting on devices running on faster networks using long-term evolution, or LTE, technology to revive phone sales. Further, increased adoption of the technology would bode well for LG, for their newly introduced range of LTE devices.
LG introduced its successor to the LG Optimus LTE, hence this phone can prove itself to be a major game changer and turn the waves of the current Smartphone Ocean towards the company. Further, industry insiders believe that even improving the performance in updating the operating system of its smartphones (as complained by the consumer in the past) can also help the company escalate its market share figures in the future.
