Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Rumors: Next Foldable Device To Come With ‘Slight’ Discount

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Z Flip 3 are expected to be out by July but a concern by most is the hefty price of the foldable devices. Consumers are aware of the suggested retail price of their predecessors, particularly the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, which initially cost about $2,000.

Of course, the price got a bit lowered when Samsung pulled down its market value to $1,800. Most new phones tend to be more expensive, but it appears Samsung may be slashing the price down all the more for its next set of foldables.

There are claims that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 may see a further reduction in prices, said to be up to 20% off. If true, this means that the next variants could be roughly worth around $1,600 once the Z Fold 3 hits the market. Tied to that, it is likely that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 could also see a further drop to roughly $1,200 for U.S. consumers before trade-ins.

Other than that, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expected to get a price-off as well. It may be 20% cheaper, but there are concerns after it was revealed that the device would be relying on a mid-range chipset and that there will be 4G and 5G versions.

For reference, the original 4G Flip was priced at $1,380 while the 5G variant was at $1,450. If those prices are to be considered, the price for the Z Flip 3 could be roughly between $1,100 and $1,200 once it is out in the market.

It is important to note that these are only speculated prices. There is a chance that the prices could be either higher or lower than the predicted pricing points. Nevertheless, potential buyers may want to consider as well the upgraded specifications of the upcoming Samsung devices.

Among the features that the next Samsung foldables are expected to have are an IP rating, S-Pen support on the Fold, an under-display camera and a smaller 4,725 mAh battery compared to the Z Fold 2.
