Samsung, Google Cancel Nexus Prime Launch Due to Steve Jobs Death?
Google and Samsung were supposed to release the new Nexus Prime at CTIA Fall on Oct. 11. However, the new product will wait for some more time to get unveiled as both the companies postponed the launch event.
Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced, Samsung said in a statement.
Neither Samsung nor Google declared the reason behind the postponement. Tech pundits have opinion that not right time may be referring to the death of Apple's founder Steve Jobs' death. Though, Jobs' company is the biggest rival for Samsung, Jobs had always been treated with great respect in business world.
In a statement on Thursday, South Korean company's CEO Choi Gee-sung said, Steve Jobs introduced numerous revolutionary changes to the information technology industry and was a great entrepreneur. His innovative spirit and remarkable accomplishments will forever be remembered by people around the world.
Reports are also indicating that the companies, in order to avoid clash of Steve Jobs funeral service and the product launch, may have delayed the unveiling of the much anticipated Android phone and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Samsung Google Nexus Prime is expected to come with 4.65 inch Super Amoled Plus HD Contour display with 1280 x720 resolution. According to tech reports, the phone will sport a dual-core 1.2 Ghz TI OMAP 4460 mobile processor coupled with PowerVR SGX540 graphics and 1 GB RAM.
