  • Customers can now access NFTs from their couch

Leading electronics company Samsung is integrating NFT (non-fungible token) marketplace Nifty Gateway into its new range of smart TVs. This will allow customers to view, access, and interact with NFTs from the comfort of their homes.

In a statement released on March 30, Samsung said, "Finally, new in 2022 is Samsung’s NFT Platform, partnering with the industry leader, Nifty Gateway. Ambient mode will offer consumers a one-stop NFT platform to explore and display NFT digital arts on 2022 Neo QLED and QLEDs, a new way to collect and present artworks."

This comes a few months after the leading electronics producer had announced that it will be integrating NFTs in its products.

"With demand for NFTs on the rise, the need for a solution to today's fragmented viewing and purchasing landscape has never been greater," Samsung said in a statement on Jan. 3.

Instead of going for the popular marketplace OpenSea, Samsung has chosen Nifty Gateway as its partner in its effort to integrate NFTs.

Customers will also have access to more than 6,000 art pieces from emerging and top artists including Beeple, Daniel Arsham, Pak, and more, the statement from Nifty Gateway noted.

Duncan Cock Foster, co-founder, Nifty Gateway said, "With our mission in mind, we couldn't be more excited to partner with Samsung to develop a groundbreaking NFT collecting experience."

"Their dedication to user experience and focus on the highest quality displays aligns perfectly with our vision to allow anyone, anywhere, to interact with their favorite creators."

Nifty Gateway is a marketplace that makes it easy to buy, sell, and store digital art and collectables, otherwise known as Nifties (or NFTs)
