Samsung Reveals Its New Browser, Cross App For Android 6.0
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are the first smartphones from the company to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The update not only brings the latest Android firmware but also a host of new software features from Samsung.
Samsung has officially announced the new features that will arrive with the Android 6.0 software upgrade. Here is a list of new features and improvements:
Samsung Internet 4.0
It is a new internet browser that offers features like some of the popular smartphone web browsers. It now supports HTML 5, faster rendering, Service Worker API for poor web connection, background synchronization and push alerts.
The Secret Mode on the browser allows users to browse the web anonymously. This mode is enabled with fingerprint authentication. The secure Web Auto Login safeguards the identity of the user through fingerprint scanning, which will allow only authorized users to access the data of the browser.
Since Samsung Internet 4.0 is ready with support for Virtual Reality, the browser can interact with mobile devices and Samsung Gear VR. This allows users to conveniently share bookmarks and video history between the devices.
Cross App
The Cross App enables users to access specific apps inside other apps. For example, while sending an SMS, users will be able to access their photos and videos to send them to the recipient without leaving the messaging app.
The chat program will also allow users to open a URL inside it through inbuilt web browser. Users can minimize the URL page and continue chatting seamlessly. The Cross App supports playback of multimedia files such as videos and audios within a chat.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow also brings along newer features like Doze Mode that helps in extending the battery performance when the device is in standby mode. While playing a video, users will have the power to adjust the speed of the audio. It also brings along better control over app permissions.
