San Francisco 49ers Have Best Super Bowl Odds In NFC Ahead Of Eagles, Cowboys
The San Francisco 49ers aren't the NFC's No. 1 seed, but they might be the best team in the conference. Ahead of their divisional playoff matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, the 49ers are given the best chance to win the Super Bowl of the four remaining NFC teams.
The 49ers have +450 Super Bowl odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. San Francisco is just ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles. The NFC's No. 1 seed has +500 odds to win the championship.
The Dallas Cowboys are third in the NFC and sixth overall with +850 odds to win a Super Bowl title. The New York Giants are Super Bowl long shots at +2500.
Even though San Francisco is the Super Bowl favorite in the NFC, Philadelphia has the best odds to play in the big game. The Eagles have +150 odds to reach the Super Bowl. The 49ers have +170 NFC championship odds.
Philadelphia has an easier path to the NFC Championship Game, hosting New York as a 7.5-point favorite in the divisional playoffs. The point spread between San Francisco and Dallas in the divisional round is down to a field goal in favor of the 49ers.
San Francisco is viewed as a bigger threat than Philadelphia to beat the AFC's top seeds -- the Kansas City Chiefs or Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs are Super Bowl favorites with +300 odds. The Bills are up next with +330 odds to win their first-ever NFL championship.
Kansas City and Buffalo are thought to have the best quarterbacks in football. Philadelphia QB Jalen Hurt will likely finish second in the MVP voting. San Francisco is on its third starting quarterback, who was the last pick in the draft and unknown by most NFL fans until Week 13.
Brock Purdy has gone undefeated since replacing the injured Jimmy Garoppolo under center for the 49ers. The rookie quarterback has put up historic numbers in his first six starts. Purdy hasn't posted a passer rating below 95.0, and his passer rating has been 114.6 or better in five starts.
Purdy is aided by one of the league's most talented group of playmakers. Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey are threats in both the back field and at wide receiver. Brandon Aiyuk had a 1,000-yard receiving season. George Kittle finished the regular season with seven touchdown receptions in the last four games.
The 49ers have the No. 1 ranked defense. San Francisco gives up a league-low 392.4 yards and 16.3 points per game. Nick Bosa had 18.5 sacks and might be on his way to being named the Defensive Player of the Year.
Overall, the 49ers have won 11 games in a row. San Francisco's last loss came at home in Week 7 against Kansas City in a potential Super Bowl rematch.
The Chiefs beat the 49ers 31-20 in the Super Bowl three years ago.
