San Francisco -- Three men were injured after a man with an “edged weapon" attacked them inside a San Francisco International Airport terminal Friday.

The three victims suffered minor cuts and scrapes from the attack. The suspect, whose name has not been disclosed, was arrested, San Francisco Chronicle reported, citing San Francisco police.

The suspect drove a vehicle to the San Francisco International Airport and entered the terminal at around 6 p.m. Friday., according to authorities.

Police said the man walked around the departure terminal before pulling out an "edged weapon." He then assaulted the three male victims, authorities said.

The three victims were in the pre-security public area of the international terminal when they were attacked, according to airport duty manager Russell Mackey. Police arrived not long after to arrest the suspect.

The victims were treated for minor injuries before continuing on their travels. Airport operations were not affected by the incident, officials said.

A reporter with KTVU who was in the airport at the time covering the Golden State Warriors' homecoming said that a large knife was removed from the scene.

It is unclear if the suspect was a traveler. The motive behind the attack is also unclear.

This incident comes not long after a doctor and two nurses were stabbed at a hospital in Los Angeles earlier this month.

On June 3, a 35-year-old man identified as Ashkan Amirsoleymani was arrested for a stabbing spree that occurred at the Encino Hospital Medical Center.

The incident was described as a bloodbath by two witnesses who worked in a nearby dental office.

Parham Saadat and Faraz Farahnik said they were leaving work when they came across a bloodied man outside Encino Hospital Medical Center who turned out to be a nurse. The nurse told them that a patient had stabbed him.

They called for an ambulance and helped the nurse back into the hospital and secured him in a room. They aided the injured individual until paramedics arrived.

SWAT officers entered the hospital, and Amirsoleymani was taken into custody, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Amirsoleymani faces three counts of attempted murder with allegations of causing great bodily injury, according to prosecutors.
