San Francisco Carnaval Grand Parade 2011: Color, Dance and More (PHOTOS)
The 33rd edition of Carnaval, the annual spring festival that celebrates the rebirth of life, brightened up the streets of San Francisco this weekend, with tens of thousands of people taking part in the colorful Grand Parade, May 29.
Carnaval San Francisco, which is best known for its spectacular choreographed dancers, scantily clad beautiful women, and sumptuous food, this year showcased the best local talent with a mix of Latin bands, samba and West Indian music, and space to salsa dance.
Sunday's Grand Parade kicked off at 9.30am at Bryant and 24th streets and was led by grand marshal Dr. Ana Maria Polo, author and star of the Spanish television program, Caso Cerrado.
