San Francisco Giants Seeking Outfielder After Injury To Nori Aoki
The San Francisco Giants want an additional outfielder after the recent injury to Nori Aoki, who is expected to be out of commission for at least two weeks. Henry Schulman, the Giants beat writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, reported the update on Twitter.
The 33-year-old Aoki is a veteran outfielder both in Japan and in MLB, playing for the Milwaukee Brewers (2012 to 2013), Kansas City Royals (2014) and the Giants this season.
Aoki’s injury is not serious but he suffered a small fracture in his right fibula. Aoki, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list, hit .317 with 33 runs scored and 19 RBIs.
The Giants added first baseman Travis Ishikawa to the 25-man roster to replace Aoki.
