‘Sand Dollar Cove’ Hallmark Movie Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis, Cast
As soon as it began, Hallmark’s “Summer Nights” 2021 event is coming to a close with the premiere of its final new film, “Sand Dollar Cove,” starring Chad Michael Murray and Aly Michalka.
The movie will be a wonderful summer treat for Hallmarkies, as it pairs one familiar face with one that is entirely new. Michalka is making her Hallmark debut in the film, though fans may recognize her from other roles, such as Keely on “Phil of the Future,” Rhiannon in “Easy A” and Peyton on “iZombie.” She may also be recognized as one-half of the pop duo Aly & AJ, with her sister.
Fans certainly recognize Murray, who is best known for his roles as Austin in “A Cinderella Story,” Lucas Scott on “One Tree Hill” and Jack Thompson on “Agent Carter.” Of course, he is a veteran of Hallmark now as well, with several titles under his belt, including “The Beach House,” “Road to Christmas,” “Write Before Christmas” and “Love in Winterland.”
This will, however, be the first film Michalka and Murray star in together. So what can fans expect?
“Elli (Michalka) is a real estate development project manager who’s been sent by her company to the quaint, seaside Connecticut town of Sand Dollar Cove to acquire the beachfront property they’ve chosen for their new resort,” a synopsis reads. “Brody (Murray), the charming local who holds the deed, wants to make sure the town’s beloved pier where many memories have been made over the years remains intact.”
The two begin to spend time together as Elli works to make the deal happen, but as they continue spending time together, feelings begin to develop between the two, forcing Elli to try and find a solution that allows her to have the best of both worlds.
“As Elli becomes more invested in the town of Sand Dollar Cove and its people, she’s inspired to create a design that could make everyone happy, both in business and in love,” the synopsis concludes.
“Sand Dollar Cove” premieres Saturday, June 26 at 9 p.m. EDT on Hallmark Channel.
