Sandra Lee, Boyfriend Ben Youcef Photographed Getting Cozy In St Tropez: Report
KEY POINTS
- Sandra Lee is dating Algerian interfaith leader, writer and producer Ben Youcef, a report says
- This is reportedly Lee's first romance since her split from Andrew Cuomo
- Lee and her new beau were seen holding hands while taking a romantic stroll in France
Sandra Lee has been spotted with a new beau nearly two years after her split from Andrew Cuomo.
This week, the celebrity chef was photographed cozying up to her new man, identified by Page Six as Algerian interfaith leader, writer and producer Ben Youcef, in Saint-Tropez, France.
In photos obtained by the outlet, the couple held hands as they took a romantic walk in the south of France. Before their walk, Lee, 55, and her 42-year-old companion were also seen smiling and taking selfies at their table in the exclusive L'Opéra restaurant.
For the outing, the "Semi-Homemade" cookbook author donned a flowing white summer dress and tied her hair up in a bun. Youcef, meanwhile, was dressed casually in a white shirt and black pants.
Lee was also seen with a huge ring on her engagement finger, but Page Six said her "friends" declined to comment about it.
"Ben is a serious and accomplished nonprofit Interfaith leader providing the call to prayer heard all around the world," an unnamed source told Page Six of Lee's new boyfriend. "He is as beautiful inside as he is outside – they make a gorgeous couple. They’re both extremely spiritual."
The outlet also learned from insiders that the two are extremely grounded in spirituality.
Youcef was discovered by director Steven Spielberg and starred as a Palestinian member of Black September in the Hollywood big shot's 2005 movie, "Munich," according to Page Six. Spielberg mentored Youcef, who trained in theater in London, and persuaded him to sign on for the role.
But while Youcef has accepted some opportunities, he said he has also rejected those that he believes demean his community. He also shared that he keeps his life in balance by reciting calls to prayer all around the world — something he's done since he was 8, the outlet noted.
Lee and Cuomo split in 2019 after 14 years together amid claims that he cheated on her. The politician has since firmly denied the infidelity rumors.
The celebrity chef appears to have completely moved on from their relationship. An unnamed insider told Page Six earlier this week, "Between her recent birthday, and feeling great and healthy, Sandra feels especially grateful and blessed for her life right now."
When she attended the UNICEF Summer Gala in Capri, Italy, last weekend, Lee told People, "I’m having the best summer of my life."
The event marked her first red carpet appearance since her breakup with Cuomo and subsequent breast reconstruction surgery. During the gala, Lee stunned in a chartreuse Matičevski gown, strappy, precious stone-encrusted Miu Miu stilettos, a fuchsia Amanda Pearl clutch and an antique, 30-carat ruby cocktail ring.
