Sarah Ferguson Broke This Important Rule During Her Wedding To Prince Andrew
Sarah Ferguson recently recalled the time she broke an important rule during her 1986 wedding to Prince Andrew.
During her 2011 interview with Oprah Winfrey in the documentary series “Finding Sarah,” the Duchess of York commented on the kiss she shared with her ex-husband.
“That was one hell of a kiss,” she said (via Express).
Fergie also revealed that everyone asked them to not kiss on the balcony, so they decided to do it deliberately. After all, Ferguson and Prince Andrew were so in love at that time.
Prince Andrew and Ferguson’s passionate kiss was compared to Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s peck on the lips when they tied the knot in 1981. Royals fans couldn’t help but notice the connection between the Duke and Duchess of York more than the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Meanwhile, Ferguson described her whirlwind romance with Prince Andrew during the same interview. She said that it was almost love at first sight when they met.
“We had three dinner dates one weekend and we got married. I absolutely worshipped him,” she gushed.
In related news, Ferguson also admitted being regarded as an idiot by Prince Philip following her toe-sucking incident years ago. While speaking with Dr. Phil in the same documentary, the mom of two said that she still can’t get over her stupidity.
“The first person who said it was my father-in-law. ‘For such a smart woman, why does she behave in such an idiotic way?’ I’m not a stupid woman. I eff it up all the time,” she said.
Dr. Phil acknowledged the fact that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s mom is not stupid.
“You’re addicted to approval and acceptance, and you’ll do anything to get it, including putting yourself in harm’s way,” Dr. Phil said (via Express).
Ferguson and Prince Andrew divorced in 1996, but the royal couple has stayed amicable ever since. In fact, they are still residing in the same house at the Royal Lodge. They were last seen reuniting at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s royal wedding on Oct. 12 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
