Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew reportedly made staggering demands for Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding last year.

According to royal reporter Tom Sykes, the Yorks pushed for the broadcast deal of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s nuptials at a time where they were being criticized for using the taxpayer’s money.

“After some hectoring from the Yorks, commercial channel ITV agree to run the wedding live but the BBC declined to follow suit, declaring there wasn’t sufficient public interest,” he told Express.

Sykes is convinced that Prince Andrew and Ferguson will attempt to do the same thing for Princess Beatrice’s nuptials next year. However, it is unlikely that ITV will agree to air special coverage of the wedding following the Duke of York’s scandal.

Friends of Princess Beatrice said that the 31-year-old royal isn’t bothered by the possibility of her wedding not airing on television. As of late, the splendor of her wedding is the last thing on Princess Beatrice’s mind.

“The girls have both been not just reconciled to but have actually welcomed living more normal lives and having normal jobs for some time now, even if their parents have not,” Princess Beatrice’s friend told Sykes.

Royal expert Russell Myers echoed the same sentiments. He said on podcast “Pod Save the Queen” that Princess Beatrice’s wedding will be a more scaled-down affair. Myers said that it is possible that the wedding will take place in Italy where fewer members of the royal family could attend.

If the royal wedding takes place outside of London, it is likely that the press won’t also make it to the event. The royal expert said that only one photograph may be released after the ceremony.

“Pod Save the Queen” host Ann Gripper called the fall out Prince Andrew’s scandal very sad for Princess Beatrice.

“It’s only weeks since Princess Beatrice announced her engagement. A special moment for her should be walking down the aisle with her dad. For her, it’s really sad,” she said.
