Sarah Ferguson’s Real ‘Love Of My Life’ Revealed; It’s Not Prince Andrew
Sarah Ferguson may have wed Prince Andrew, but this didn’t mean he was the love of her life.
Rebecca Perring, a journalist for Express, claimed that Ferguson was madly in love with Texan playboy Steve Wyatt. The mom of two met Wyatt in 1989 at the Houston Grand Opera’s British Opera Festival while she was pregnant with Princess Eugenie.
Ferguson and Wyatt went on to have an affair, and their relationship was confirmed through unearthed clips from the 1997 documentary “Fergie: Downfall of the Duchess.”
David Leigh, the co-author of “The Duchess of York: Uncensored,” also talked about Ferguson and Wyatt’s relationship.
“Steve Wyatt was the main reason for the breakdown of her marriage. Fergie fell head over heels in love with him. She met him at a time of her life when she was exceptionally low and felt Andrew wasn’t supporting her. She went to Texas and she met a very handsome and rich Texan who was very attentive and loving and they very quickly fell in love. Steve Wyatt was the love of her life. Andrew may have been her best friend, and he probably still is now and probably always will be, but Steve Wyatt was the love of her life,” he said.
According to Leigh, Ferguson was also devastated when her affair with Wyatt ended because he started dating Cate Magennis.
“It left her totally broken. She dreamt that one day they would be together hopefully living in America, she was forever making dreams in her head,” he said.
After her split from Wyatt, Ferguson went on to have an affair with Wyatt’s close friend John Bryan. The Duchess of York and Bryan were involved in a toe-sucking scandal during their vacation in St. Tropez.
Allan Starkie, a royal biographer, said that the photo was set up by Ferguson, who had the knowledge that it will be released to the public.
“Three tip-offs, how much more information did she need?” he said (via Express).
