Sarah Ferguson’s ‘Showgirl Style’ To Make A Comeback Through Brand Kate Loves
Sarah Ferguson’s showgirl style from years ago is expected to make a comeback soon.
In 1988, the Duchess of York was spotted in a floor-length navy-blue gown with a tiered design at the Strand Theater in London for a gala charity performance. At that time, Ferguson was pregnant with Princess Beatrice, and she was also accompanied by Prince Andrew.
Ferguson’s dress also featured a figure-hugging bodice and long sleeves. She paired her dress with black gloves and sparkling drop earrings. According to an expert stylist and fashion designer, this type of dress may be revived soon.
Holly Jade O’Leary told Express that some famous brands are planning on bringing the look back to their collections. “The taffeta and tulle black sequined outfit worn by Sarah Ferguson to a West End performance during her pregnancy is making a comeback on the Spring Summer 2019 catwalk, with brands such as Erdem and Rodarte drawing from the classical evening wear and showgirl style with resplendent, ballgown dresses,” she said.
Middleton is a huge fan of the fashion label Erdem. The mom of three has stepped out in various pieces from the brand ever since she joined the royal family. Last Oct. 10, she wore an off-shoulder tweed midi dress from the label’s Iman range. During her trip to Sweden, Middleton also wore a dress by Erdem.
The Duchess of Cambridge is not the only royal who has worn Erdem. Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie are believed to also be huge fans of the label. On Dec. 19 last year, the Duchess of Sussex was photographed in a semi-sheer black Erdem dress.
Months earlier, Princess Eugenie wore a pricey floral embroidered cap sleeve by the designer during her engagement pictorial with Jack Brooksbank.
In related news, Ferguson made headlines last weekend after photos of herself in different evening dresses throughout the years were revisited. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife has worn some of the most unique pieces while still married to her prince and even after they got divorced.
