Sasha Banks Sheds Light On Future Plans Following WWE Walkout
KEY POINTS
- Sasha Banks hints at possibly focusing on music over pro wrestling
- Banks and Naomi have yet to make their WWE return
- She could return with a different in-ring persona
Sasha Banks, whose real name is Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado, has yet to be seen back in the WWE fold.
Although there are suggestions that she and Naomi have signed in principle to return to WWE, there have been no sightings of the 30-year-old performer.
Banks and Naomi were last seen in action this past May. However, both unceremoniously left the arena.
At the time, both were set to take part in a Fatal 5-Way Match to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Raw Women's Championship held by Bianca Belair.
It was suggested by Fightful Select that Naomi was groomed to win the match.
This somehow shrouded what lies ahead for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles held by Banks and Naomi.
When the creative team refused to adjust the storylines, such led to the celebrated walkout.
A lot has changed since then with the landscape changing following the retirement of Vince McMahon and Triple H taking over the creative department of the promotion.
Despite the alleged agreement to return, there have been no signs or hints that Banks and Naomi would make her return.
Banks appeared on the "Ahch-To Radio" program, where she discussed her interest in getting more involved in music than acting.
"There is so much that I'm kind of creating right now. It's all under an umbrella. Like I said, I'm an actor, writer, producer, and extraordinaire entertainer. All within those realms, I'm doing something. So, you just have to stay tuned. You have a microphone, that's something big I want to do. Not podcasting, but music," Banks said.
"I'm really starting to focus my mind around music and the music realm and being kind of a director in that space of creating a musical video piece."
Despite her absence, there is no telling if her new direction would be somehow related to her WWE return.
But considering that it was Triple H who brought her to the WWE in the first place, a possible change in character could be in the works.
