Sasha Obama's Yawn During The President's 2013 Inauguration Speech Goes Viral [GIF]
A GIF of Sasha Obama has begun to go viral after the younger first daughter was caught yawning while her father was delivering his second inaugural address.
The Atlantic Wire revealed that the 11-year-old was captured letting out a mighty yawn while her father was speaking about education policy.
"No single person can train all the math and science teachers we’ll need to equip our children for the future, or build the roads and networks and research labs that will bring new jobs and businesses to our shores. Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one nation, and one people," the president had said, before pausing and waiting for applause.
That’s when cameras on Monday panned to Michelle, Malia and Sasha Obama. Even though the young girl was in the middle of a major yawn, she made sure to clap for her father.
The younger first daughter had likely had a long morning, making sure to be perfectly coiffed for the day’s proceedings, in addition to waking up early to attend a church service to start out the inaugural festivities.
The Twitterverse took note of young Obama’s yawn, but most were quick to take to her side.
@LLMilner wrote, “In today's news, Sasha Obama yawns a ginormous yawn during her dad's speech. #weunderstand #neverliveitdown”
@veraherbert tweeted, “Best part of the inauguration: Sasha's GIANT ‘Dad you're boring me’ yawn.”
“Sasha's yawn caught by @abcnews telecast. Adorbs. Were I her age and in her place, probably be yawning too. You'll get it one day, kiddo,” @mallorybaches posted.
“Sasha's yawn was priceless,” @JewdyGold shared.
“Sasha just let out a big yawn during her father’s speech notoriously funny. Stealing the show yet again,” @WendyLWilson_ tweeted.
Her father’s public events seem to easily tucker out the 11-year-old, with USA Today noting that in 2008 she reportedly "yawned during the Democratic National Convention with her head on her mom's lap."
