‘Saturday Night Live’ Had Bryan Cranston Reprise His ‘Breaking Bad’ Role [VIDEO]
“Saturday Night Live” brought a special guest for the opening sketch in the Dec. 10 show. Bryan Cranston appeared as his “Breaking Bad” character Walter White. The sketch made fun of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet choices.
The “SNL” skit co-starred Beck Bennett as CNN’s Jake Tapper and Kate McKinnon as Kellyanne Conway. The former campaign manager explained that White was a science teacher who would lead the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). “Breaking Bad,” of course, starred Cranston as a teacher who became a meth dealer.
Conway explains that Steve Bannon found White in the comments section of Breitbart.com. Tapper questions his level of experience, but White promises that he knows the DEA very well.
It seems Trump isn’t the only one who wanted White. Conway explains that the top companies have been knocking on the science teacher’s door for years, but White never answered. “I’m the one who knocks,” White remarks, quoting one his most famous “Breaking Bad” lines.
The meth dealer said that he and Trump agree on many things. “It’s time to make America cook again,” White said. “We want to fill this nation with red, white and a whole lotta blue.” Watch the “Saturday Night Live” clip below:
Cranston seems happy to reprise his most well-known role. “Breaking Bad” ended in 2013, but it seems the actor wouldn’t mind playing Walter White again in a more serious capacity. He has said he would be happy to appear on AMC’s spinoff “Better Call Saul.”
“If it helps Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, who run that show, to have Walter White make an appearance, I would do it,” Cranston told the Huffington Post in June. No future Walter White appearances have been announced yet, though.
