Is Savannah Guthrie Hinting At Rumored Tension With Co-host? Says It's 'All Quiet'
Is "Today" anchorwoman Savannah Guthrie touching on the rumored feud with her co-host Hoda Kotb in her recent Instagram post? The 50-year-old posted a behind-the-scenes shot with Kotb on her Instagram stories Wednesday and wrote, "all quiet behind the scenes."
In the photo, an assistant was seen fixing Guthrie's makeup as the latter posed for a selfie with Kotb. The two are captured smiling playfully, seemingly quashing the rumored tensions between them.
Rumors about Guthrie leaving the daytime show because of a falling out with Kotb began after she missed eight shows in August. While absent from "Today," the talk show host remained active on social media.
On Aug. 23, Guthrie shared a photo montage of an outing with her kids at a country fair in Rhinebeck, New York. "Fair to say we had an amazing time," she captioned the post. Guthrie also called herself a "fair mom" in her post which included a photo of a roller coaster ride where she wrote, "totally not queasy."
Viewers have noticed the on-air tension between the two anchors, according to OK! Guthrie also supposedly pulled a "power move" and arrived late to the show in one episode in August to show the network that they cannot do the show without her.
"She is showing them who is the boss and that they can't do the show without her," a source told the outlet. "When Savannah doesn't show up for work the entire force of NBC News is dispatched to find out where she is."
The magazine went on to say that Guthrie and Kotb are faking their friendship in front of the camera and that the former is trying to replace Kotb with MNSBC's Nicole Wallace.
Both hosts enjoyed the time off from the show in the last week of August as rumors of the rift continued. But an insider debunked the reports and said there was no truth to the rumors. "There is no feud. None," the insider told NYPost.
When they were first paired in the show in 2018, Guthrie and Kotb described their relationship as "sister-like" having known each other since they started their careers at NBC over a decade ago.
