  • Savannah Guthrie's husband booked the entire Mirbeau Inn and Spa in New York for her birthday bash Friday, a report says

  • Guthrie and Michael Feldman reportedly are adhering to CDC guidelines for the bash

Savannah Guthrie's husband Michael Feldman will throw his wife a birthday party this week despite the spike in COVID-19 cases in New York, a report says.

The "Today" show co-anchor turned 50 years old Monday, and her husband has invited a number of their loved ones and co-workers to celebrate the occasion with them in a lavish birthday party for Guthrie Friday, Page Six reported.

"Does anyone else think it is hypocritical given that she is constantly touting being COVID-safe on the news?" an unnamed source "who got wind of" the bash told the outlet.

However, an anonymous insider close to Guthrie told the outlet that the couple is going "above and beyond" to ensure that their guests and the staff at the venue are safe. They reportedly invited 60 guests, including family members, close pals and some of her colleagues from the "Today" show.

"Her entire family has been with her for over the holidays, which is one of the main reasons they are doing it at this time," the source added.

Among the confirmed guests are Hoda Kotb, Al Roker, Carson Daly and Jenna Bush-Hager, another source told Page Six. Dylan Dreyer, Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin reportedly also received invitations, but their attendance has not yet been confirmed.

The party will be held at the Mirbeau Inn and Spa in Rhinebeck in upstate New York, according to the report. Feldman reportedly rented out the entire venue to ensure that only the guests would be there at the time of the event.

The hotel has 39 rooms, and booking the whole place would help control the environment, the insider said.

"They’re strictly adhering to CDC guidance and the recommendations of their own medical advisors," the tipster continued. "All guests and staff are required to be fully vaccinated and boosted, and everyone — including the hotel staff — will be tested by a service before they can even enter the hotel."

The guests are expected to undergo rapid tests before entering the inn. PCR tests reportedly are also available.

The state has advised people to not host large gatherings over the holidays but has not issued an official ban. The CDC, meanwhile, still encourages people to avoid large events and gatherings.

Although the birthday celebrant was aware of the event, Guthrie was not involved in the planning, another source close to her told Page Six.

"She is not privy to many of the details," the insider continued.

On Monday, Guthrie revealed on Instagram how she celebrated her "perfect birthday," sharing that she enjoyed "a hot bath and an awesome face mask" and listened to her favorite songs.

"I was surrounded [by] my dearest. My husband who treats me like a treasure… my darling angel babies… and the three who were there with me at the beginning… on this day 50 years ago today. Mom, Cam, Annie," she wrote. "So I treasure this gift of life and remember you always. And thank god for a half-century of His kindness and grace and blessing."

Meanwhile, Jeff Lewis recently shared that he and several others tested positive for COVID-19 after hosting a "superspreader" holiday party on Dec. 21. Those who contracted the virus included his co-host Megan Weaver, assistant Shane Douglas, actress Monika Casey and Lewis' on-again, off-again boyfriend Scott Anderson.

"I don't regret [it], by the way. That was an epic party. It was so worth almost dying for!" he said on Monday's episode of his SiriusXM radio show "Jeff Lewis Live."
