Dustin Diamond has been diagnosed with cancer and his rep said it's "serious."

The "Saved by the Bell" star was hospitalized a few days ago and there were speculations that it could be due to cancer. Diamond's team confirmed that he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in an undisclosed hospital in Florida by releasing an official statement on Facebook.

"At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer," the announcement read. "Dustin Will disclose more information once it is available and a plan moving forward is made."

His team also shared an address where fans and supporters can send cards and letters. However, they reminded everyone not to ask for autographs because it wasn't the purpose of them giving his address. Fans can also email PinkDaisyEntertainment@gmail.com if they would like to drop a message for Diamond and the team will print and forward them to the actor.

"We ask everyone to respect Dustin’s privacy during this difficult time. All positivity and prayers are appreciated," the message they issued concluded.

Diamond's team told Entertainment Weekly that the cancer diagnosis was "serious." They also added that the 44-year-old star is still in the hospital and will remain there "for a while." He has also undergone chemotherapy for his condition.

"He's undergoing chemo so he will be there at least another week and then we will figure out when he gets to come home," Diamond's rep told EW. "By next week, we'll have a much better understanding of the severity of his condition and what treatments he will need so that he's comfortable."

He added that Diamond was feeling "fine" today but was not doing well when he was admitted to the hospital.

"He was fading in and out, feeling sleepy and tired. On top of all this he also has shingles, so he's been in a lot of pain," the source said.

Another rep for the actor said his medical issues began with a "huge lump on his throat."

Diamond was hospitalized a few days ago because he had an uneasy feeling and was experiencing pain throughout his body. Since then, his fans have been sending their love, support and prayers over social media.
