KEY POINTS
- SB19 will hold a solo concert at the Palladium Times Square in New York City in early November
- Ticket-selling for the event will officially start Monday via Ticketmaster
- The Philippine boy band will also perform in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Las Vegas
The biggest boy band from the Philippines, SB19, will head to New York City in November as part of its 2022 "WYAT" world tour.
The five-piece music act booked the Palladium Times Square for its NYC stop. Come Nov. 5, SB19 members Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken and Justin will grace the stage of the iconic venue situated at the corner of 44th and Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan.
After announcing the concert via Lx2 Entertainment Sunday, ticket-selling will start Monday through Ticketmaster. Head to the ticket sales and distribution company's website at 12 p.m. EST to secure entry to the highly anticipated event early.
Ticket pricing has also been released, starting with $118 for Mezzanine (seated) accommodation and $148 for Promenade (seated) viewing. Orchestra tickets (SRO) are priced at $168 each, while VIP (SRO) will cost $200. The $50 meet-and-greet pass has been changed to a soundcheck pass that will be sold separately upon ticket purchase.
SB19 will join the many music icons who have graced the state-of-the-art theater. Notable acts who once performed at the Palladium Times Square include the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, Prince and AC/DC.
The venue was first known as the Loews Astor Plaza movie theater from 1974 to 2004. It underwent a major renovation headed by architect David Rockwell after that. It reopened as Nokia Theater Times Square in 2005 but changed its name twice (Best Buy Theater and PlayStation Theater) in the years that followed, according to the official Times Square website.
After the expiration of its lease, the PlayStation Theater closed in December 2019, only to reopen as the Palladium Times Square in 2020.
SB19's concert at the Palladium will be just one of its multiple stops in the U.S. The band has also confirmed tour stops in Los Angeles (Nov. 12), Chicago, Las Vegas and San Francisco. But specific details for those have yet to be disclosed.
Outside of the U.S., the Billboard-nominated act will head to the United Arab Emirates (Oct. 29), Singapore (Nov. 27) and other locations for its 2022 "WYAT" world tour.
But before heading to international shores, the band will kick off its local tour in the Philippines at one of the country's premier concert venues, the Araneta Coliseum, on Sept. 17. Tickets reportedly sold out within the first 24 hours of ticket-selling.
The tour comes after the release of the group's latest single "WYAT (Where You At)" Friday. The track topped the iTunes charts in several countries, including the Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Hong Kong and UAE upon release. It also peaked at No. 20 in Canada and No. 70 in the U.S. on the day of its release.
The music video for the disco-funk track also made headlines for paying homage to the music of the yesteryears and some of the iconic aesthetics and mementos of early pop culture. Check out SB19's "WYAT" music video below.
