‘Scandal’ Season 6 Spoilers: Episode 13 Promo Teases Fitz, Rowan Confrontation In ‘The Box’
“Scandal” Season 6, episode 13 will see Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) confronting Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) father, Rowan Pope (Joe Morton).
In the teaser released by ABC for “The Box,” Olivia and Fitz are standing up against Rowan and what he might have done to put Mellie’s (Bellamy Young) life at risk. Fitz and Olivia believe that Rowan is still working for the mysterious organization, and they want to get ahold of Mellie. One of the members of the organization talks to Olivia on the phone and threatens her until Mellie, the new president of the United States, is released.

Mellie also encourages Fitz to let the issue go by allowing her to touch base with the man from the mysterious organization. However, Fitz is still concerned over Mellie even though they are no longer husband and wife.
David Rosen (Joshua Malina) will also find out the truth about Ms. Ruland (Zoe Perry). In the previous episodes, Ms. Ruland flirted with David in an attempt to gather information about Olivia and her team. David will find out on Thursday night’s episode that what they shared with each other means nothing to Ms. Ruland.
In episode 12, Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) broke the news to David about Elizabeth North’s (Portia de Rossi) death. David, who also had a fling with Elizabeth, was shocked to find out that he was even standing over her grave. By the looks of it, David and Ms. Ruland’s confrontation in “Scandal” Season 6, episode 12 will have something to do with the fact that David already knows Ms. Ruland cannot be trusted.
Meanwhile, last week’s episode, titled “Mercy,” also saw Mellie heading to the Oval Office. She has been elected as the president of the United States, and she shocked everyone with her decision to appoint Frankie Vargas’ (Ricardo Chavira) wife, Luna (Tessie Santiago), to be her vice president. At one point, Mellie also questioned whether or not she was the best fit for the position. Thankfully, Marcus (Cornelius Smith Jr.) was there to give her a pep talk. Marcus told Mellie that she’s worth it and that she deserves the position no matter what her critics say.
In other news, “Scandal” is set to release two more episodes, after this week’s 13th installment, before the finale. Season 6, episodes 15 and 16 will serve as a two-part season ender for the hit ABC series. Fittingly titled “Tick Tock” and “Transfer of Power,” “Scandal” Season 6, episode 15 will see Mellie being inaugurated as the new president. Episode 16 will focus on Fitz and the final days of his presidency.
Following the two-hour finale, “Scandal” will go on a long hiatus and will return with Season 7 in the fall. According to TV Line writer Andy Swift, it is possible that Season 7 will be the last for the series because the storylines are just being spun to extend its shelf life. Swift also noted the fact that “Scandal” already reached it 100th episode mark in Season 6, and Season 7 could be the best time to end the show while still on a high.
“Scandal” Season 6, episode 13 will air on ABC on May 4 at 9 p.m. EST.
