Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost poked fun at their marriage in a hilarious new Super Bowl ad for Amazon's Alexa.
The real-life couple co-star in a newly released 2022 Super Bowl commercial, where they learn what it would be like if the Alexa voice device could read their minds — and inadvertently announce their private thoughts.
In one scene, the "Black Widow" star rolled over in bed and faced her husband upon waking up. "I love that we get to sleep in," she told the "Saturday Night Live" star, who winced and buried his nose in his pillow.
Alexa then said, "Ordering fresh mint mouthwash. Extra strength," as Johansson got up and smell-tested her breath.
Another scene featured the "Avengers" star rehearsing some cringeworthy lines for an upcoming play. Her husband asked her when it would premiere, and Johansson replied, "March 8."
Alexa quipped, "Setting a reminder to fake your own death on March 8," before Jost could turn the device off.
Then, while watching a romantic movie scene, the comedian turned to his wife and asked if Johansson has fun or not when doing a kissing scene with a "hot" co-star.
"It's the worst!" Johansson replied, which was immediately followed by Alexa playing Fleetwood Mac's "Little Lies."
Toward the end of the ad, Jost said, "It's probably better Alexa can't read your mind." Johansson agreed that "it's a bad idea."
The ad marks Johansson and Jost's first project together.
Claudine Cheever, vice president of global brand and fixed marketing for Amazon, told Variety that the couple was "very involved in the joke writing" for the commercial, which is slated to air early in the fourth quarter on NBC's broadcast of Super Bowl LVI Sunday.
"Celebrities work well for us when they will poke fun at themselves, and are willing to have fun with themselves rather than just show up and be themselves. It's something we are always thinking about when we are casting," said Cheever.
Johansson and Jost dated for two years before getting engaged in May 2019. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in October 2020 and welcomed their first baby together, son Cosmo, in August last year.
Johansson is also mom to daughter Rose, 7, whom she shares with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.
