The main plot of the TV series has been about the life of four members of a family who were forced to move to a small town after facing some financial difficulties. That story came to an end in Season 6 after Johnny (Eugene Levy) and Moira (Catherine O’Hara) decided to leave the town and move to California. Alexis (Annie Murphy), on the other hand, decided to go to New York City. The only member of the family who planned to stay back was David (Dan Levy), who wanted to build a new life with his husband Patrick (Noah Reid).

There are no plans to continue the story with “Schitt’s Creek” Season 7. However, according to a theory by Screen Rant, there are ways to explore new storylines if the cast and crew feel like returning to the show at some point in the future.

For starters, Alexis can drop by to visit with David and Patrick. The family can also decide to head back into town if the newly married couple decides on starting a family with a baby.

For the moment, however, the cast and crew feel that they have said goodbye to the show. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dan said that the wedding in the last season was a “ really wonderful way of bringing the community together, and having a last goodbye with the town.”

Filming the last season would have been an emotional experience for the cast and crew, and they also had many scenes that gripped the audience. Eugene previously told Entertainment Weekly that the scene where Johnny chats with his future son-in-law “has a lot of heart to it.”
