LA, First US Major City To Offer Free COVID-19 Tests To All Residents

Los Angeles City Mayor Eric Garcetti announced the city is offering free COVID-19 tests to all residents, making it the first major US city to do so. The tests would be done by online appointment and would be available to all L.A. city residents whether or not they show symptoms but would still prioritize symptomatic people and frontline workers. For now, the free tests would be available only to city residents but a similar plan is being developed for L.A. County.

Astronomers currently observing the approaching comet SWAN said that it has become bright enough to be spotted by the human eye. It will most likely become brighter as it approaches the Sun and Earth.
