Scott Hall passed away Monday after being taken off life support. He was 63.
The pro wrestler made the headlines early this month for breaking his hip after a scary fall. Wrestling promoter Jerry Jarrett announced what happened to his pal on Facebook.
Then last week, the WWE legend was put on life support after suffering major complications from the medical procedure he underwent to address his broken hip.
Hall suffered three heart attacks on March 12, after a blood clot “got loose” during the operation.
On Monday, the WWE officially announced Hall’s passing on Twitter.
“WWE is saddened to learn that two-time WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Hall’s family, friends and fans,” the professional wrestling company wrote.
Scott was famously known for his wrestler alter-ego Razor Ramon. His longtime tag team partner in the industry was Kevin Nash, who was devastated upon hearing the news.
“My heart is broken, and I’m so very f—king sad. I love Scott with all my heart, but now I have to prepare [for] my life without him in the present. I’ve been blessed to have a friend that [looked] at me at face value and I him,” Nash wrote on Instagram.
He continued, “He wasn’t perfect but as he always said, ‘The last perfect person to walk the planet, they nailed to a cross.’ As we prepare for life without him just remember there goes a great guy you ain’t going to see another one like him again.”
Hall was a wrestler for 26 years. Throughout his career, he was very good at being the very evil in the ring, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The late wrestler won the WWE Intercontinental title four times and the WCW Tag Team championships seven times, alongside Nash.
Hall officially retired from the pro wrestling scene in 2010. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice. The first one was in 2014 as the bad guy Razor Ramon. The second time was in 2020 as a member of the New World Order.
Born on Oct. 20, 1958, in St. Mary’s County, Maryland, Hall spent his high school years in Munich, Germany. After returning to the U.S. with his family, he attended St. Mary’s College, where he earned his pre-Med degree.
He entered the world of professional wrestling in 1984 and became part of the WWE in 1992. He wrestled in more than 1,500 matches across multiple organizations throughout his career.
