Is Sean Lowe Transphobic? 'The Bachelor' Season 17 Star On Chelsea Manning: 'The Guys In Prison Should Love This'
Does Sean Lowe of “The Bachelor” have something against transgender people? The star of Season 17 of “The Bachelor” and former Kansas State football player sounded off on Thursday about the revelation that former soldier and convicted WikiLeaks case leaker Bradley Manning wants to live life as a woman.
Lowe took to Twitter to share a link to a CNN story about Manning’s planned transformation into a woman. Instead of offering encouraging words, “The Bachelor” star replied, “The guys in prison should love this.”
Manning, 25, is headed to the most famous American military prison, which is located in Fort Leavenworth in Kansas, after being sentenced to 35 years for leaking hundreds of thousands of confidential files to WikiLeaks. He faced as many as 90 years in prison. While he was found guilty of espionage and theft charges, the former U.S. Army soldier was acquitted of the most serious charge against him, aiding the enemy. Manning could have gotten the death penalty if convicted of that charge.
Lowe’s tweet has been retweeted 15 times and favorited 32 times as of 3 p.m. EDT Thursday. Some users commenting on the post didn’t think “The Bachelor” star was being transphobic. But do you think his tweet was inappropriate? Let us know in the comments section below.
