Actress Sean Young was placed under citizen's arrest after a fight broke out at the Governor's Ball late Sunday following the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
The 52-year-old actress was arrested at the official post-Oscars Ball reports The Associated Press, but the Los Angeles Police Department would not disclose details of the arrest.
TMZ reports that Young allegedly became physically aggressive with a security guard at the Governor's Ball. She was placed under citizen's arrest and then taken by LAPD to the Hollywood police station for misdemeanor battery.
TMZ claims a fight broke out between Young and a security guard because she did not have a ticket to the Ball. Young was reportedly only arrested after security guards had asked her to leave the entrance of the Governor's Ball and she returned. When a guard placed his hand on her shoulder, TMZ reports Young slapped him.
Following the incident, the actress posted $20,000 bail and left the station early Monday. In a brief interview outside the station, Young told TMZ that she blames the citizen's arrest on the Academy's lawyers.
Shame on you, she said of the Academy's decision to place her under citizen's arrest.
The incident Sunday was not, however, Young's first squabble at a post-Oscars party. The Daily Mail reports that, in 2006, Young allegedly tried to sneak into a Vanity Fair party behind Jennifer Aniston only to be caught by security guards.
Young is best known for her roles in Blade Runner, Dune, No Way Out and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. In recent years, she has struggled with alcoholism and addiction and voluntarily entered a rehab center in January 2008. She has not been in a major movie since that year.
Prior to her arrest late Sunday, Young snapped pictures with some of Hollywood's hottest stars, including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, Michelle Williams and Jonah Hill.
