Seattle Mariners' Greg Halman Stabbed to Death
Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman was stabbed to death in the Netherlands on early Monday morning.
Halman's 22 year-old brother has been arrested as a suspect in the death, according to The Associated Press. A Rotterdam police spokeswoman told the service that police were called and found a bleeding Halman.
He is under arrest and right now he is being questioned, Patricia Wessel, a police spokeswoman, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. It will take some time to figure out what exactly happened.
Wessel didn't release the name of the brother, but Fox News reports the arrested brother is Jason Halman.
Greg Halman, 24, played sparingly for the Mariners last season - he appeared in 35 games - as the only Dutch-born player in the MLB last year. Halman was the first Dutch-born player to make the majors after developing completely in the Netherlands, according to USA Today.
Before joining the Mariners, Halman played professionally in the Dutch Pro League.
