Seattle Reign FC Goaltender Hope Solo Arrested For Assault
Seattle Reign FC goalkeeper Hope Solo was arrested early Saturday for allegedly "hitting people."
Kirkland police reported Solo appeared intoxicated and upset, the Seattle Times reported. Solo was charged with domestic violence assault and booked at the King County detention facility.
The Reign issued a statement saying they were gathering information about the incident and would have no immediate comment.
The Times said Solo, 32, allegedly hit her sister and nephew at a Kirkland home owned by one of her sisters. Police said a party was underway when they arrived about 1 a.m. The police report said Solo had been "hitting people."
Solo's attorney told the Associated Press Solo actually was the victim.
"Hope is not guilty of any crime," attorney Todd Maybrown said in an e-mail. "In fact, our investigation reveals that Hope was assaulted and injured during this unfortunate incident."
Solo is married to former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens.
