With the exception of Ole Miss, Kentucky and Vanderbilt, every school in the South Eastern Conference was invited to a bowl game for the 2011-2012 season. Out of the nine SEC schools going bowling, six schools broke the AP and BCS top 25 standings at the close of the regular season, including No. 1 LSU, No. 2 Alabama, No. 6 Arkansas, No. 9 South Carolina, No. 16 Georgia and No. 25 Auburn.

Two teams from within the SEC West division, LSU and Alabama, will duke it out for the title of best college football team in the BCS National Championship game, scheduled for Monday, Jan. 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN3. In the first meeting between the teams on Nov. 5, top-ranked LSU traveled up to Tuscaloosa and stole a 9-6 road win in overtime from the No. 2-ranked Crimson Tide. The Tigers will defend their perfect record in the last college football game of the year against their SEC West rivals.

The SEC's representatives will face tough out-of-conference match-ups, but with a combined record of 79-31, there's a good chance the schools from the South East will prevail over their opponents, who hail from Conference USA, the ACC, Big East, Big 10 and Big 12.
