Eric and mystery man Danny are about to get a lot closer in episode 4 of “Secrets and Lies.”

The ABC crime drama left off on Sunday with Eric (Michael Ealy) getting the address for the car that picked up Liam (Graham Phillips) the night of Kate’s (Jordana Brewster) death. Eric was searching for his wife’s assistant. Instead, he came across Danny (Kenny Johnson), the mystery man who he caught beating up Neil (Eric Winter) and ransacking Liam’s apartment. Like Eric, Danny is searching for answers regarding Kate’s death. However, the two appear to have different methods for getting those answers.

The synopsis for episode 4, titled “The Detective,” teases that Eric will discover he has “more in common” with Danny than he initially believed. Although they didn’t know each other prior to Kate’s death — and it’s still not clear how Danny is connected to her — the two will team up to find Liam. Unfortunately, they’re not the only ones searching for the former assistant. The episode description teases that someone is “hot on his trial.”

Eric may be closer to getting answers regarding Kate, but things will be falling apart at work. His younger brother, Patrick (Charlie Barnett), will blow a big meeting. On top of that, Patrick will unravel during one of Detective Cornell’s (Juliette Lewis) intense interrogations. But what incriminating evidence could Patrick possibly have? The synopsis reveals that Eric will be “confronted by a huge betrayal” that will leave him speechless.”

“Secrets and Lies” Season 2, episode 4 will air on ABC on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
