Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are happily on the road to marriage following their quick engagement. However, the big step doesn’t mean Selena Gomez has begun dating a new guy after learning about her ex-boyfriend’s new relationship status.

Gomez, who split with Bieber in March, has been photographed hanging out with her best friend, Raquelle Stevens’, younger brother on several occasions. Despite rumors, the recent outings are not a sign that the “Wolves” singer is exploring a new romance.

Sources told People Gomez is not in a relationship with the young man, who has been identified as Caleb Stevens. “They’re absolutely only friends,” an insider shared.

“They’re not dating,” the source added.

Although Gomez isn’t dating Stevens, if she were to begin a romance with a new guy, it would be out of sincere affection, rather than to spite her ex-boyfriend.

Those close to the “Back to You” singer previously revealed she was not bothered by Bieber and Baldwin’s engagement. “Selena doesn’t care. She’s over Justin and the last time they broke up allowed her to get over him fully,” a source told the Us Weekly shortly after the engagement.

Bieber, who dated Baldwin from 2015 to 2016, proposed to the model on Saturday during a trip to the Bahamas. The engagement ring from Solow & Co. is reportedly worth half a million dollars and features an oval-shaped diamond between 6 to 10 carats. The engagement comes shortly after the two rekindled their romance last month.

Bieber confirmed the news on Monday with a sweet Instagram post, and Baldwin later shared a tweet expressing her happiness over the special moment. Those close to the couple acknowledge the engagement was quick, but believe the two genuinely care for one another. “It’s crazy how fast it happened but when you know, you know. They’re so excited,” a source told the publication.

“He’s in love with her and they’ve always had that connection. They have been in love for a very long time,” the insider explained.

While Bieber and Baldwin begin to plan their wedding, Gomez has turned her attention to her career and is said to be in a “great place” since her break-up with the “Sorry” singer.
