Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber Consult A Pastor To Avoid Similar Relationship Patterns
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have vowed to make their relationship work this time around.
The couple has reportedly consulted with Hillsong pastor, Carl Lentz, about their relationship. Bieber wants to make sure that he and Gomez will be able to avoid similar patterns that destroyed their relationship in the past.
Bieber and Gomez have also decided to put God at the center of their relationship that’s why their couples counseling includes church visits and discussions with Lentz.
“They don’t want to repeat the same patterns as before. They’ve clearly had issues in the past, so they’re receiving some guidance from Carl,” a source told People.
Ever since Gomez and Bieber reunited in October, the two have also been spending a lot of time in church. Initially, a source said that the two singers want to keep their relationship low-key. But they still went to church together regularly.
Meanwhile, it seems that Gomez and Bieber’s relationship has not been sitting well with the “Wolves” singer’s closest friends and mom, Mandy Teefey. Earlier this week, there were reports suggesting that Gomez and Teefey were feuding because of Bieber. However, the issues between the two seem to be more than that.
A source told People that Gomez and her mom have not been speaking, but this isn’t the first time that they’ve had some ups and downs. As a result, Gomez wants to give her mom some space so both of them could think properly.
“When they fight, they fight hard. But when they love, they also love hard,” the source said.
The publication also noted that Teefey was recently hospitalized due to stress, but not necessarily because of Gomez’s relationship with Bieber.
“It’s been a stressful time for Mandy and she made the decision herself to go to the hospital to make sure everything was okay,” an insider said.
And as for Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, she previously said that if Bieber loves Gomez then she loves her too. “I’ve met her and we have a special bond so I think she’s precious,” she told People.
