Selena Gomez wants to claim her name -- that’s what she posted a picture of on her official Instagram account Thursday. The singer wrote a post about how she has kept “so many secrets” and teased her new music.

So what’s she talking about? It could be her rumored romance with Justin Bieber. The two ended their relationship after Bieber supposedly cheated on her, but rumors have swirled that the couple might be rekindling their romance.

“Sometimes I get frustrated when I hear lies about who I am. The Internet is meant to keep you 'updated' but it just takes old news and freezes it like it's now,” Gomez, 22, said.

The “Come & Get It” singer could be referring to photos that show her and Bieber together in Canada last August. Bieber pleaded guilty to assault and careless driving Thursday. After the news broke, photos soon circled of Gomez and her ex-beau together once again, even though the shots were nearly a year old.

“You have watched me in pain and I've owned up to it through my music and actions,” Gomez said. "I grew up with you. I am beyond excited to show you the next chapter, the TRUTH. I've been keeping so many secrets ... I'm reborn in every moment so who knows what I'll become ... As long as I'm happy with me.” She then added the hashtags “strong is beautiful” and “healthy perspective on them fools.”

The post was liked nearly 745,000 times by her 33.2 million followers. It also triggered a large response, with more than 10,000 comments.

This could definitely be good news for Gomez fans. They’ve be wanting new music from the star, and her team told fans new content would come “soon” and then “you will have a good summer,” celebrity blogger Perez Hilton wrote Friday.
