Selena Gomez revealed her stunning new look on social media Friday, sending fans into a frenzy.
The official Instagram account of Gomez's Rare Beauty posted a makeup-free selfie of the singer rocking a new hair color: platinum blonde. In the snap, she is wearing a casual, printed white T-shirt and sporting different-colored pastel nails.
"New look. Need to pick new Rare Beauty lip and blush shades now," the caption read.
Gomez's bleached locks were the work of her hairstylists, Nikki Lee and Riawna Capri of Nine Zero One Salon, using Joico products, Entertainment Tonight reported.
"We’ve been doing Selena’s color for over a decade now. She typically keeps it pretty natural, but this time she went for a big change. This blonde is unique to her as we had to make sure there was an equal balance of cool and warm for her skin tone," they told Marie Claire.
Fans appeared to be happy and excited to see Gomez sporting blonde hair again as her post was flooded with fire and heart emojis in the comments section.
"BLONDLENA IS BACK," one fan commented.
"Blondelena once again! Woww!," another Instagram user wrote.
"Blondlenaaaa [fire emoji] she back," a third user added.
"Didn’t even recognize her AH THE BLONDE QUEEN IS BACK!" another added.
"OMG SHE LOOKS GORGEOUS," a fifth user added.
Gomez, who is a natural dark brunette, also went blonde back in 2017, but Marie Claire noted that the singer went for a more ashy shade and kept her dark roots at the time. She had debuted her blonde locks at the American Music Awards.
In a 2015 interview, the "Rare" singer shared with ET her biggest hair faux pas, and it had nothing to do with hair dye.
"My biggest hair mistake is when I was younger and I was figuring out how to use a flat-iron," she said at the time. "I used to think that just because visually I could see that this hair was straight that the back didn't necessarily have to be straight, so for the entire sixth grade I only straightened the front of my hair. That wasn't really my proudest moment."
Just recently, Gomez also debuted the new tattoo she got, courtesy of celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang, owner of Bang Bang Tattoo in New York: a small cross on her collarbone.
Bang Bang praised Gomez's pain tolerance, saying she was calm during the whole session. "A collarbone is a little more sensitive than some other areas on the body,” he said. "But she’s tough and never makes a peep."
