Selena Gomez Opens Up About First On-Screen Kiss: 'One Of The Worst Days'

Selena Gomez is opening up about one of the “worst” on-screen moments in her life. While appearing on the “Kelly Clarkson Show,” the 27-year-old musician shared the details of her first on-camera kiss during her guest appearance on the series “The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody” in 2006.

Speaking with the talk-show host, the “Lose Yo To Love Me” hitmaker revealed that her first on-screen kiss happened in 2006 for the Disney series with Dylan Sprouse. The singer also noted that she had a huge crush on Dylan’s brother, Cole but could not get a chance to kiss him.

Gomez further stated that she does not have fond memories of that particular scene and labeled it as one of the “worst days” of her career.

“I guest-starred on the show but I kissed his brother and did not get to kiss Cole. It was my first kiss. On camera! It was one of the worst days of my life. I ended up missing, like, half of his lips. So it ended up being the most awkward kiss in the world,” Gomez said.

The singer also explained that she was “obsessed” with the show and thought she and Cole would be together one day.

As soon as the articles regarding that particular moment surfaced online, Dylan’s brother chimed in and commented on Instagram that a girl never said these words to him.

Later in the interview, the “Rare” hitmaker slammed her critics for constantly telling her that she is not a great singer and revealed that it does not matter what they think because she works hard in creating melodies.

“I know that people may not think I am the greatest singer. But, I just work my a— off. I really love writing and creating melodies and growing,” Gomez said.

Gomez is currently riding high on the success of her new album “Rare” that made her earn her third number one album on the Billboard 200 chart. The album has received universal acclaim from critics as well as fans. Rolling Stone said that her third solo album is an “act of divine ruthlessness” and gave it four stars out of five.

The album’s first single, “Lose You To Love Me,” became Gomez’s first-ever song to claim the numero uno position on the Billboard charts.
