Selena Gomez is the definition of a true friend.

The "Lose You To Love Me" singer took to Instagram early Friday to speak on the latest drama between her best friend Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta, and Big Machine Records.

"My heart is so heavy right now," Gomez wrote. "It makes me sick and extremely angry. I don’t mind if there may be retaliation. This is my opinion. It’s greed, manipulation and power. There is no heart or thought of anyone else’s. No respect for the words my friend has written since she was a 14 year old in her bedroom. You've robbed and crushed one of our best songwriters of our time an opportunity to celebrate all of her music with fans and the world."

"I have known Taylor for 13 years. She is the most dedicated, fearless, feisty, strongest woman I’ve ever known. People can say [expletive], but what I’m saying to you is that it’s called a woman with true identity and strength who takes no [expletive]," she continued. "... I can tell you first hand the MOST important thing to Taylor is her family, love, her fans and her MUSIC. I really hope here is a change of heart over this unfortunate situation."

Gomez's heartfelt message comes after Swift claimed that Borchetta and Braun were preventing her from performing any of her old music.

"Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have now said that I’m not allowed to perform my old songs on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before I’m allowed to next year," the "Lover" crooner shared in a Tumblr post on Thursday. She went on to accuse Braun and Borchetta of "exercising tyrannical control over someone who just wants to play the music she wrote."

The latest drama comes ahead of Swift's upcoming American Music Awards performance where she will be honored as the Artist of the Decade. She hoped to perform a medley of her songs as a part of her performance but that's proving to be quite the challenge.

Both Gomez and Swift's are set to perform at the 2019 AMAs, and although the lineup for Swift's performance seems to be in limbo, fans can vote for her and all of their favorite artists online.

The American Music Awards will air at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, Nov. 24, on ABC.
