As Selma Blair Fans Seek Flight Video; Actress Responds To Instagram Followers
Selma Blair, who played Kris Jenner in “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” is thankful for her fans. The “Legally Blonde” star spent Father’s Day in Cancun with ex-boyfriend Jason Bleick and their son, but things went awry when the plane home made an emergency landing Monday, and Blair was removed on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital.
As fans pined to see video of her airplane outburst, the actress took to Instagram Thursday to thank friend Heather Stricker and fans for their “forgiveness.” Blair posted a picture from her 44th birthday celebration. It showed her son whispering into her ear.
“ ‘And so what should I wish?’ And he whispered it in my ear right then. I ask my angel for it to be true everyday. And to do the same for others,” she wrote. “Thank you @wildersatheart for loving us this birthday. Your patience. Your support. We [love] you. And a sincere thank you to all those who sent me the spirit of loving and forgiveness. It is a new birth year. Thank you.” The image garnered more than 4,400 likes from her 240,000 followers.
Before taking to social media, the “Cruel Intentions” star sent an official statement to Vanity Fair. She apologized for her actions. “I made a big mistake yesterday,” she said Tuesday. “After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret. My son was with his dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace. I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”
While there have been some pictures that show part of Blair’s breakdown, there is no known video footage.
