Sennheiser NYC Stores: Headphone, Audio King Opens Manhattan Locations
Some of the best headphones and microphones in the world are now available for you to try in person at Sennheiser’s new pop-up stores in Manhattan. Sennheiser’s new NYC stores, open now until February 2017, feature the latest and greatest in audio technology for you to experience as well as performances curated by Tidal.
Last week IBTimes was on-hand for the opening of Sennheiser’s SoHo location. At the store, you can immerse yourself in the world of 3D audio and then experience the truly one-of-a-kind Orpheus headphones. These $50,000 headphones have been out for almost a year, but unless you were at CES 2016 (or another major technology trade show) getting a chance to feast your ears on the latest audio technology was difficult. At Sennheiser's pop-up store you can get a demo for free. With built-in amps and unparalleled quality, audiophiles will want to make sure to make the trip.
“This is something for someone who wants a sound reproduction system that would rival even super premium speaker systems,” Scott Houston, Sennheiser product specialist for the Americas, told us at CES 2016. “And it’s something for those that want the best and do not settle for anything … and they do have the means.”
In partnership with Tidal, Sennheiser will host events at its SoHo store, including performances by “rising artists” like Kevin Garrett and Mayaeni.
“Sennheiser has stayed at the forefront of audio technology for over 70 years by bringing artists and listeners closer together through our products,” says Guido Karbautzki, senior vice president of Sennheiser’s global retail channel, in a news release. “We are pleased to continue this great tradition by hosting a series of in-store performances by exciting new talent with TIDAL. As New York is known as a trendsetting market, we are particularly excited to deliver these experiences to New Yorkers.”
Sennheiser also has a location at the new Oculus building next to the World Trade Center in downtown Manhattan. There, you can take a listen to another standout headphone from Sennheiser, the PXC 550. These wireless Bluetooth headphones (read our review here) are the perfect match for those that travel regularly. The PXC’s sound cancellation is far and away the standout feature. You can also try the HE 1 headphones and HD 630 VB at the downtown location.
Sennheiser’s New York City store, which is open daily from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., is located in SoHo, Manhattan at 134 Prince St. For more info about Sennheiser’s NYC stores, click here.
“From the stages of Broadway, to the leading recording studios, Sennheiser has a decades-long history of bringing exceptional sound to New York’s audio professionals,” said Dr. Andreas Sennheiser, co-CEO of Sennheiser, said in a statement. “From this fall, we are excited to be taking this authentic passion for sound to the consumers, and it begins here in New York.”
