Sept. 10 Will Feature These Two Free Games On Epic Games Store

The next set of free games coming to the Epic Games Store has been revealed.

As “Into the Breach” takes a bow and returns to being a paid game after 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT on Sept. 10, the tycoon simulator “Railway Empire” and narrative adventure “Where the Water Tastes Like Wine” become free, according to Video Games Chronicle.

“Into the Breach” was released on PC in February 2018 ahead of a Nintendo Switch version that came out six months later.

Launched alongside the storefront in December 2018, the promotion of free games by Epic Games Store has been running since and will supposedly conclude at the end of 2020.

A “Total War Saga: Troy” released exclusively via the Epic Games Store in August was free to download for its first 24 hours, during which time the offer was claimed by over 7.5 million players, according to publisher Sega.

“Railway Empire” was developed by German studio Gaming Minds Studios and produced by Kalypso Media. It was released in January 2018 for Windows, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Players can build a large network of railway lines and buy various locomotives to serve cities and industries. They can grow cities in the process and hire railway personnel for both train operations and office positions, all with individual bonuses and personality types.

Set in the Great Depression-era United States, “Where the Water Tastes Like Wine” is an adventure game developed by Dim Bulb Games and Serenity Forge, published by Good Shepherd Entertainment. After a 2018 release for Linux, macOS, and Windows, it was released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch in 2019.

The Epic Games Store recently added mod support and began rolling out its achievements system.

According to the Epic Games Store development roadmap, features “up next” include the introduction of an algorithmically driven trending category, and bundles that dynamically adjust their pricing based on whether players already own parts of the bundle.

Future developments will include a gifting feature, an Android Store, as well as support for additional currencies and payment methods.

It was recently announced that the PC version of “Hitman 3” will be an Epic Games Store exclusive for one year. Meanwhile, the PC version of “Crysis Remastered” will also be exclusive to Epic Games Store’s storefront.
