Serena William Claims Meghan Markle Didn’t Abandon Baby Archie For US Open
Around four months after Meghan Markle gave birth to baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, she traveled to New York City in September. The Duchess of Sussex was in town to support her friend, Serena Williams at the US Open, however, her trip to the event was criticized.
After seeing Meghan enjoying herself at the tennis match, critics took to the internet to mom-shame the actress. The former “Suits” star was criticized for leaving her infant in the UK while she flew to the US.
However, during a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Williams revealed that Meghan brought Archie with her to NYC. “I just really think she’s the strongest—literally the strongest—person I know, and the nicest, sweetest,” she explained.
“She flew all the way with a newborn to see me play in New York and flew all the way back that night, and I probably couldn’t have done that,” the tennis star added.
Williams went on to praise her friendship with Meghan, who has always been there to support her. “It goes to show you what an amazing person she is, and that's just one of the many things that she does for me,” the 38-year-old said.
“I call her, text her anytime crying, upset, and she’s there. Doesn’t matter what she’s going through, she sets time away, and she’s so amazing.
Meghan has had a full schedule over the last few months. Along with attending several engagements, Meghan, Prince Harry and Archie went on a royal tour of Africa. Over the weekend, the couple stepped out alongside other members of the royal family to attend Remembrance Day events.
