Sergio Ramos Set To Join Special List Involving Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo

Sergio Ramos is set to join a special list of players who have played with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in competitive soccer.

Messi and Ronaldo are two of the greatest players to have graced the sport of soccer. Having scored 700+ career goals, the duo has dominated the sport over the last decade.

The pair has broken nearly every record possible in soccer and won almost everything on offer, both individually and with their respective teams. The rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo has been nothing but pure joy to watch for the soccer fans, especially when they were in FC Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

There is a small bunch of players who have been privileged enough to have played with both legends, and former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is soon going to join the list. Ramos and Ronaldo experienced some of the most successful years of their careers at Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018. Together, Ramos and Ronaldo won two La Liga titles at Santiago Bernabeu, along with four Champions League trophies.

Ramos, who was recently signed by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a free transfer, is set to play alongside Messi in Paris ahead of the 2021-22 season. The former Barcelona captain has also been roped in by PSG as a free agent and has signed a two-year deal.

"Messi is one of the world's best, and I want the best in my team," Ramos was quoted, as saying in an interview a few days ago. Messi and Ramos have left Spain's La Liga as joint-holders of the record for most appearances in the history of El Classico (Real Madrid vs Barcelona) - 45 matches.

The players who have already played with both Messi and Ronaldo include some renowned names such as Gerard Pique, Angel di Maria, and Carlos Tevez, according to Spanish publication Marca.com.

Along with Ramos, PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas is also about to join the above list. The Costa Rica goalkeeper was Real Madrid's glovesman between 2014 and 2019. He was in front of the goalpost for the 13-time winners when they clinched the Champions League in three consecutive seasons -- 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.
