‘Sex and the City’ 3 Won’t Happen And Kristin Davis Is ‘Upset’
“Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker recently told fans that she has a big announcement coming this week. Immediately after, fans started speculating that it will have something to do with another sequel.
But even before things were finalized, their plans for a possible third installment have already been killed. On her Instagram account on Saturday, Davis penned a lengthy post expressing how disappointed she was that she and her co-stars won’t come together for a third “Sex and the City” film.
According to Entertainment Weekly, news about Charlotte (Davis), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Carrie (Parker) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) reuniting for another film have long been making headlines. But on Thursday, Parker told Extra that another installment will no longer happen.
“It’s over. We’re not doing it. I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so far that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie,” she said.
Unfortunately, Parker did not reveal the real reason why “Sex and the City 3” will no longer be a go. In 2008, the first “Sex and the City” movie was well embraced by its loyal fans. Two years later, a second installment was released. But there are rumors (via the Daily Mail) suggesting that the entire sequel was axed due to Cattrall’s “outrageous demands.”
Cattrall fired back at the publication by saying that the only demand she ever made was that she did not want to star in another “Sex and the City” movie. The actress added that she said this way back 2016.
Earlier this year, the actress spoke with Entertainment Tonight and said that she’s unsure what the third movie will be about. “Whether you like it or not, the reality is, authentically – there were not alternative facts here! – there was backlash. The reality of what a third movie would be – there’s nothing concrete. There’s no script, there’s no idea,” she said at that time.
But Parker recently said that they have a good storyline.
