‘Shadowhunters’ Renewed Or Canceled For Season 3? Freeform Reveals TV Series’ Fate
Good news Downworlders: Freeform has renewed “Shadowhunters” for Season 3. The network announced the good news on Friday and the cast revealed the TV series’ future via Facebook live interview from the set in Toronto.
This is certainly good news for fans of both the TV show and Cassandra Clare’s novels on which “Shadowhunters” is based on.
The third season will release on Freeform in 2018. While this is certainly good news, fans are right now looking forward to seeing the second half of Season 2. The explosive winter finale ended with Jace (Dominic Shwerwood) learning that Clary (Katherine McNamara) isn’t his sister! His father Valentine (Alan Van Sprang) informed Jace that he isn’t his father.
Season 2, episode 10 also showed Alec (Matthew Daddario) telling Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) that he loves him. Aw.

However, while things looked good for Malec and Clace, one couple didn’t make it through the first half of Season 2. Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) broke it off with Raphael (David Castro).
Meanwhile, Valentine was finally in The Clave’s custody.
In the second half of Season 2, which premieres Monday, June 5 at 8 p.m., Jace will tell Clary that he isn’t her brother. A teaser trailer shows the handsome hunk telling the Shadowhunter that he isn’t related to her. Unfortunately for Clace fans, Jace does not want to come in between her and Simon (Alberto Rosende) since they are in a good place right now.
Elsewhere, Valentine is holed up in some kind of Clave prison.
A new Shadowhunter named Sebastian (Will Tudor) joins the series and the Seelie Queen will step out of the shadows this summer.
“Shadowhunters” returns on Monday, June 5 at 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform. The show has been renewed for a third season.
