‘Shameless’ Season 6 Spoilers: Episode 9 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘A Yurt Of One’s Own’? [VIDEO]
The cornrows have been taken out of Carl’s (Ethan Cutkosky) hair, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) has found his missing mojo and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) is one step closer to becoming an EMT. That’s what went down in episode 8 of “Shameless” when the hit Showtime series returned from its short hiatus. But if it sounds like things are finally coming together for the Gallagher clan — think again.
According to the synopsis for episode 9, titled “A Yurt of One’s Own,” Fiona (Emmy Rossum) will spend the upcoming installment trying to make amends with Sean (Dermot Mulroney) after endangering her beau’s visitation rights with his son. In episode 8, Will (Reed Emmons) found Carl’s gun and needless to say, Sean was not happy with his son's new toy. This resulted in a big fight between our troubled love birds.
However, that's just the beginning of Fiona’s boy problems! A promo video for the forthcoming episode reveals Gus (Steve Kazee) will re-enter Fi’s life … with a request: Gus wants the engagement ring he gave to Fiona back. But there’s a problem. Fiona pawned the ring after Gus humiliated her during a show with a song written about her.
When Fiona tries to get the ring back (three months after she pawned it) she learns that the price has inflated to nearly triple the amount.
“Please, I’m getting divorced. My ex wants it back. His grandma smuggled it out of Nazi Germany in her vagina so it has sentimental value,” she pleads. But the shop owner isn't fazed by the heart wrenching story — especially when six thousand dollars is on the line. “Lots of people come to this shop to look at this ring!” he rebuttals. But luckily for Fi, the shop owner reveals that he’ll give her a couple of days to come up with the money … a race Fiona is quite familiar with.
Meanwhile, Debbie (Emma Kenney) and Queenie (Sherilynn Fenn) will pack their bags for their new home — a commune in the countryside. But if they thought it was going to be a girls-only trip, boy, we’re they wrong! Frank (William H. Macy) joins their journey as a third wheel in an attempt to escape a drug dealer after stealing his merchandise.
“Shameless” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
